Our Philosophy
We believe children learn through play and interacting with the world around them. Every child is unique and has his or her own personality and style of learning. A child sees the world around them with wonder and awe, we believe in encouraging their natural curiosity. We offer the children an environment and activities appropriate to their developmental needs. Activities may be challenging, but not so difficult that children become discouraged.
We offer variety in our activities and include music, movement, multi-cultural experience, reading, math and more. Children are encouraged to participate, but no child is forced to participate. We offer plenty of time for children to choose their own activities and interests and try to build on those by helping to extend the play.
We believe one of the best gifts we can give children is TIME. Time to explore, time to learn just what does interest them, time to be a friend, time to read a book, time to build that block castle and then knock it down and do it all over again if they like, time to learn and to be a child.
We also believe it is important that children learn important social skills that will carry them through life. Manners, kindness, friendship, independence, responsibility and patience are a few of these. Self esteem is very important to a child's development, but being a caring member of society is also key to their success in life.
We understand that children learn best in a relaxed but stimulating environment in which they feel secure and supported. The children will develop many skills including emotional security, social skills, listening skills, critical thinking, problem solving skills, and above all, a positive sense of self-esteem and a love of learning, but it is all at their own pace.
